The Hays County Local Health Department reports one new COVID-19-related fatality Sept. 30, a Kyle man in his 60s.
The county also reported 122 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 151 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 28,564, total active cases to 1,099 and recoveries to 27,098. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 2,025.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 304, 367 and 163 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 255,450. The total number of hospitalizations is 1,295 and total current hospitalizations is 36 after one person was hospitalized and three were discharged.
The county reports 29 unvaccinated people and seven fully vaccinated people are hospitalized. 27 unvaccinated patients and two fully vaccinated patients are in the ICU.
