The Hays County Local Health Department reports one new COVID-19-related fatality July 2, a San Marcos man in his 40s. There have been a total of 262 fatalities in the county.
The county also reported 29 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 12 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 19,136, total active cases to 177 and recoveries to 18,697. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 230.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 28, 76 and 37 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 180,692. The total number of hospitalizations is 915 and total current hospitalizations is six after zero people were hospitalized and zero were discharged.
