Texas State’s COVID-19 dashboard added 33 new student cases and seven new faculty/staff cases Jan. 15.

Texas State men’s basketball (8-4 overall, 2-1 Sun Belt) weathered a second-half surge by the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (7-5 overall, 3-2 Sun Belt) to win 63-59 on Jan. 15.

The Hays County Local Health Department reports six new COVID-19-related fatalities Jan. 15, three San Marcos women in their 80s, one San Marcos man in his 30s, one Kyle woman in her 30s and one Dripping Springs man in his 80s. There have been a total of 154 fatalities in the county.

In an effort to preserve the rich history and culture of the local Indigenous and Tejano community, Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra has formally established the Council for the Indigenous and Tejano Community (CITC).
