Texas State football announced its 2021 schedule in conjunction with the Sun Belt Conference’s release of its complete list of games.

Sept. 4 - Baylor University, San Marcos, Texas

Sept. 11 - Florida International University, Miami, Florida

Sept. 18 - University of the Incarnate Word, San Marcos, Texas

Sept. 25 - Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, Michigan

Oct. 9 - University of South Alabama, San Marcos, Texas

Oct. 16 - Troy University, San Marcos, Texas

Oct. 23 - Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia

Oct. 30 - University of Lousiana at Lafayette, Lafayette, Louisiana

Nov. 6 - University of Louisiana Monroe, San Marcos, Texas

Nov. 13 - Georgia Southern University, San Marcos, Texas

Nov. 20 - Coastal Carolina University, Conway, South Carolina

Nov. 27 - Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, Arkansas

Coverage of the games and their times for Sun Belt contests will be released in the first three weeks of June, while the non-conference games’ times are chosen during a 12-day selection process.

Inaugurating the season is a marquee Sept. 4 clash with Baylor, followed by their road debut a week later against FIU.

Sun Belt Conference play begins against the South Alabama on Oct. 9 for eight consecutive games until the end of the season, when the Bobcats' will play an away game against Arkansas State on Nov. 27. Texas State’s last home game is on Nov. 13 against Georgia Southern.

The Bobcats finished their 2020 season with a disappointing 2-10 overall, 2-6 in the conference and fourth in the West Division of the Sun Belt. Their lone wins came against ULM (0-10 overall, 0-7 Sun Belt) and Arkansas State (4-7 overall, 2-6 Sun Belt), with the latter being a close 47-45 game going down to the final minute of play.

The Sun Belt Championship game between East and West division winners is slated for Dec. 4.
