Snow San Marcos

San Marcos residents brave the snow and cold, Monday, Feb.15, 2021, on Wonder World Drive.

As power outages continue to linger throughout the San Marcos area, several warming centers and shelters have opened to provide residents with resources and safety.

The University Star has compiled a list of available locations on where residents can visit to seek shelter.

Southside Community Center

Warming buses, shelter and food. The center says it is offering free food "24/7" until Feb. 20.

"We're focusing on the homeless community, but if there is anybody else that might need food, especially right now, during this time...if they need [food] they may stop by," a center representative tells The Star.
