Texas State is opening its dining halls to all students through Feb. 22, according to a campus-wide email from President Denise Trauth.
The university says due to power outages, it will only open Harris and Commons Dining Halls, located at 700 Moore St. and 109 Bobcat Trail, respectively, as of right now. Any student who presents a valid student ID will be eligible to receive a to-go meal "regardless of whether you have a meal plan."
"When conditions improve and we begin to receive food deliveries again from our suppliers, we will open additional dining halls and locations," Trauth adds in the email.
The opening of the dining halls to all students comes amid record-breaking winter weather and power outages throughout San Marcos and the state of Texas. The move to do so is in addition to the deployment of multiple shuttle "warming buses" around campus.
