Hello everyone and welcome to another episode of The Star Sitdown. In today's episode, our guest is Professor Gilbert Martinez. Gilbert D. Martinez is a senior lecturer and has taught Media Law at Texas State since fall 2003. He graduated with a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in New York in 2000. Professor Martinez and I discuss the role the media plays in the public's day-to-day life, the notion of "Fake News," the first amendment, and the struggle of finding diverse true information.
