Texas State men's basketball (11-4 overall, 5-1 Sun Belt) completed its weekend sweep against the University of Louisiana at Monroe (4-11, 2-6 Sun Belt) in a 69-63 win. The win marked the Bobcats' fifth straight victory on the season.
Texas State women’s basketball (6-5 overall, 3-3 Sun Belt) defeated the University of Louisiana at Monroe (2-10 overall, 0-6 Sun Belt) 64-50 in the second home game of a doubleheader on Jan. 23.
After dominating the majority of the game, Texas State men’s basketball (10-4 overall, 4-1 Sun Belt) withstood a late rally by the struggling University of Lousiana-Monroe Warhawks (4-10, 2-5) to win 57-47, picking up its fourth straight victory.
Texas State women’s basketball (5-5 overall, 2-3 Sun Belt) defeated the University of Louisiana at Monroe (2-9 overall, 0-5 Sun Belt) 74-52, snapping a three-game losing streak and moving its record to .500, on Jan. 22.
The Hays County Local Health Department reports 77 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 44 recoveries Jan. 22, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 13,915, total active cases to 2,697 and recoveries to 11,047. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 3,397.
